Hanukkah Card Roundup

I’ve always been somewhat partial to Hanukkah cards and gift wrap, probably in part because I love blues and teals, but also because I really like the strong but simple design elements often found in Hanukkah paper goods. There is beauty in simplicity, and a single Star of David centered on the front of a crisp, white card or a single row of stylized candles can have big visual impact. Here are some of the lovely Hanukkah greetings that I’ve come across this year in my holiday web travels.

A. Favorite’s letterpress holiday cards are perennial favorites of mine because they’re just so darn fun and clever. And there’s much oh so clever, vintage-inspired awesomeness in the new holiday card collection again this year. The diner ticket-inspired What You’ll Have Bill letterpress is too cool, and did you ever think you’d see a boxing-style matchup between The Little Drummer Boy and The Three Wise Men? Me, either!

2011 Calendar Designs, Part 7

I’m just about ready to wrap up my calendar coverage for the year, but there are still plenty of fantastic calendar designs left before I finish up with my final roundup sometime next week. Here’s the penultimate collection, featuring lots of eye candy for your viewing pleasure.

Such sweet and lovely illustrations in Italian shop Symbiosis’ 2011 calendar. Each month features a print of original paintings from the Symbiosis collection and an area for notes and special dates.

Night Owl Paper Goods has multiple birch wood desk calendars this year, including the cutie patootie 2011 Critter Calendar:

And the 2011 Botanical Calendar, which features a different and lovely botanical-themed illustration each month:

Parrott Design Studio’s gorgeous 2011 limited edition letterpress calendar features some of Sarah Parrott’s favorite vintage illustrations, woodcuts, and original illustrations. Each month is hand calligraphed by Li Ward o Fat Orange Cat Studio, and images are printed in a variety of candy-colored inks.

I’m loving the illustrations featured in Gallardo Works’ 2011 Creatures of the Deep calendar. The rich navy blue color is so nice!

Oh so pretty floral and mandela-inspired illustrations in Jessica Doyle’s 2011 fine art print sampler desk calendar:

Letter C Design’s 2011 spiral bound wall calendar features plenty of room to write and a different, lovely pattern and color for each month.

Tel Aviv-based shop, Be Happy Now, has created 2011 wall and poster-sized calendars that feature a selection of dreamy, fantasy-inspiring illustrations.

What a fun and whimsical calendar from Caitlin Keegan! This unique round calendar features areas to write notes below each month, and whimsical hand lettering and an illustrated, folk-inspired sun in the center.

deMOCCA’s 2011 desk calendar features nature inspired silhouettes in a spectrum of color:

Locavores will enjoy Claudia Pearson’s 2011 Buy Local Calendar, which features a different, seasonal food illustration every month.
