Make a Bold Birthday Card with Distress Ink Watercoloring & Die Cutting

How to Make a Bold Distress Ink Watercolor & Die Cut Birthday Card

I went big and bold for my latest project for Craftsy and combined Distress Ink watercoloring with die cutting to create a birthday card that’s clean and modern, with a brushy touch. Head on over to Craftsy to see the step-by-step tutorial!

A couple of little notes about this project: this was the first time that I cut out shapes with a rougher, more organic edge (the “wish big” letters) from watercolor paper using my Silhouette Cameo, and I was impressed by how cleanly they came out. I also really liked the look of the negative space left after I die cut the letters and am planning on making a second card with it. I’ll pop it up on my Instagram when it’s finished.
