I finally took the plunge and signed up for a Twitter account. Yes, I’m on the cutting edge of technology…two years after the fact! Anyway, I just signed up so I’m still trying to figure out how things work, but I thought that this would be a fantastic way to open up communication with my fellow paper peeps. And, like a good Twitterer, I will probably be posting random bits about my day and links to both paper and non-paper things that I’m digging.

I’m loving these pretty and modern printables from Up Up Creative, created and run by independent designer, Julie Green, and named by her then 15 month old son, who answered, “Up up?,” when asked what he thought the shop should be named. Up Up’s goal is to provide modern, clean design and handmade goods that have practical and lasting applications. Much of the products are downloadable, DIY, and very economical, an increasingly important thing to consider these days.

I’m really digging the growing trend in shops offering printables. They’re wallet-friendly, and they offer you an opportunity to customize to your hearts content with the paper you use to print the notes, stationery, invitations, and recipe cards on.

LobotoME’s line of recycled and locally warehoused and manufactured organizational notepads was designed around the simple concept of “goods to keep ME sane”. I know that I definitely need to be more organized, and I’m sure that many of you feel the same way.

LobotoME offers us some organizational relief in the form of super cute notepads that include Check ME, a helpful grocery shopping checklist (I love that agave nectar and coconut oil are included on the list), and Pack ME, for de-frazzling the travel planning process.

They have also created this pretty, mantra-filled (aka MantraME) poster that you can hang on your office (or any other) wall and look to for a daily dose of momentum. You can download the poster as a desktop image, too!

Ladies of Letterpress

If you have an interest in the ins and outs of letterpress printing, if you have your own letterpress business and are interesting in talking shop with other letterpress owners, or if you’re a letterpress lover (like me!) who just wants to know more about the process, then you’ll want to check out Ladies of Letterpress, a new organization created to foster a “dialogue and camaraderie among women printers”.

Ladies of Letterpress has a blog that features posts on sourcing materials, equipment, and general goings-on in the letterpress community. They also have a growing community that features a forum and blogs from the individual members. Lots of wonderful independent shops have already joined, with more coming on board all of the time. I’m really looking forward to seeing where this community goes!
