As soon as I saw the images of this installation by Rebecca Niederlander, my mind relaxed and I went off into daydreamland. Much to my delight, I discovered that this particular art installation, which can be found until the end of June at the Vincent Price Art Museum at East Los Angeles College, is called “…and now is the time for dreaming”. It really is dreamy and fluffy…and it’s made out of paper! So inspiring. – via Design*Sponge

I’m loving this fun and playfully illustrated greeting card collection by Ingela Peterson for Lagom. The occasional cards feature bright colors and adorable wildlife, always a winning combination in my book!

Pop Up Book : Chanel Spring 2009 Couture Collection

Jaw, meet floor. Karl Lagerfeld chose paper as a theme for Chanel’s Spring 2009 Couture Collection, and the images speak for themselves. Absolutely stunning. And, who would’ve guessed that Karl Lagerfeld loves paper?!

The set, created under the direction of Stéphane Lubrina, featured 7000 handmade paper flowers, made from glass based paper, which took a total of 4800 hours and a team of 40 people to create.

The georgeous head pieces worn by the models were also made from paper by Japanese hairstylist Katsuya Kamo. I really, really hope that the head pieces (all of the flowers, actually) go to some sort of fashion museum or collector’s home because my heart breaks thinking that they may be forgotten after the show. Jeffery Rudell Onion Valentine

Jeffery Rudell never ceases to amaze and inspire me with his creativity. He has created a stunning valentine from the humble onion (I really wish that I hadn’t thrown out the onion skins from my weekend cooking), and he shows you how you can make one for yourself, too.

I also love the sentiment behind this valentine, which was Jeffery’s annual valentine to himself, and the quotes that he chose to include in the package. Read more and pick up the instructions here.

A Little Hut (Patricia Zapata) Has A Book!

I was so excited a few months ago when I found out that Patricia Zapata of A Little Hut was working on a book about paper! The book is called Home, Paper, Scissors and will be released in August 2009. It’s available for pre-order now, and Patricia has given us a sneak peak — the gorgeous paper flower above.
