Silhouettes, Silhouettes

I’m seeing silhouettes everywhere over the past several months, and I can’t get enough of them! I also can’t get enough of the unique ways in which silhouettes are being used and incorporated in design, and below are just a few that have caught my eye lately:

Silhouettes

1. A custom silhouette, created by Le Papier Studio and printed by Studio on Fire, makes an original and elegant custom wedding invitation

2. The Inspired Bride shares a step by step tutorial with us for this beautiful silhouette favor box

3. Elsita adds a touch of her trademark whimsy to a paper cut silhouette of a young girl

4. Intricate paper cut silhouette work from Flickr user Honeymil

5. A pink and brown “Sweet Sixteen” card gets a sweet silhouette, courtesy of Annie Clark for Minted

6. Die cut silhouettes with letterpress detailing hint at the words inside this lovely card by d.sharp

7. Designers Jen Davison and Jason Blackheart of DavisonBlackheart created custom business cards that blend Victorian silhouettes with a contemporary design aesthetic, printed by Pinball Publishing

8. Not quite paper, but I love, love these hand screenprinted handkerchief save the dates, featured recently on Style Me Pretty
