Night Owl Paper Goods Birch 2010 Calendars

I always look forward to seeing what’s new at Night Owl Paper Goods. I was so excited to see that they’ve just released two of their trademark birch wood printed calendars for 2010 (shown above)! The Critter Calendar features twelve different animals having all sorts of fun, and the Pattern Calendar contains twelve stylish patterns and designerly elements.

Night Owl also has lots of great new birch wood printed cards, including an awesome owly pirate, a happy little whale, and a birthday piglet:

My Handbound Books

I came across My Handbound Books for the first time the other day, and I immediately got the warm and tinglies when I saw their beautiful handbound journals and planners. They’re so rich looking, with their suede and leather covers, and I can imagine myself as a Medieval scholar carrying one of these beauties around with me. The reality probably wouldn’t be as romantic as the picture in my head, but thankfully we don’t need to travel back to the Middle Ages to have the pleasure of owning one of these beautiful books. Hope is in the Cards

It seems that we could all use a little hope these days, and my heart was warmed when I found out about Hope is in the Cards, a campaign which allows everyone to give a little encouragement and hope to those in their lives who may be going through a rough patch. What is Hope is in the Cards?

The “Hope is in the Cards” campaign was started by small business owner Russ Haan to help lift the nation’s spirit by encouraging people to send 300 million greeting cards by mail. His goal is to spread optimism during these tough economic times by sending messages of encouragement to friends and loved ones.

The Week of Hope starts today, September 1, 2009, and runs through September 7, and Cardstore.com is participating in a big way with the campaign. Their Hope Collection, live on the Cardstore site today, was created for the Week of Hope, and customers can choose one free personalized card from the collection this week, add their own message and/or photos, and Cardstore will print it and mail it to anyone that they choose, worldwide, for free. Pretty awesome, huh? Use code SENDHOPE by September 7, 2009 at midnight PST to send your free card.

Cardstore has created a lovely video for the Week of Hope, and you can watch it and link to it here. They are also having a stationery giveaway, which you can find out more about here.

Mindy Wilson Poplar Leaves Gocco Print

Like it or not — I definitely like it — fall is on its way. The weather was a bit chilly here over the weekend, and a touch of autumn was in the air. It made me think of all of the wonderful things that are to come in what is one of my favorite, if not my favorite, seasons. Spiced apple cider, pumpkins everywhere, warm and comforting foods, Halloween, and beautiful falling leaves, like those found in the colorful Poplar Leaves Gocco print by artist Mindy Wilson.
