Cosmo Cricket Joyride & Material Girl Collections

I know that I’m always going to find vintage-inspired goodness in Cosmo Cricket’s scrapbooking lines, and their newest collections are no exception. Joyride (below) features a palette of muted teal, orchid, yellow, orange, and brown and includes a great collection of papers patterned with both geometric and illustrated designs. If you’re a scrapbooker who’s planning a summer camping trip, then you’ll want to give this one a look. And if you’re a paper crafter with a penchant for retro patterns, then you’ll want to check this one out, too.

I’m also enjoying the Cosmo Cricket Material Girl collection (below), which features a palette of chalkboard green, muted reds and teals, yellow, and chartreuse. The papers in the collection feature scissor and decorative edging-inspired patterns, and the humble tape measure makes an appearance in a rainbow of shades.

Dandy Lion Press Bunnylopes Cards

San Francisco based Dandy Lion Press introduces us to the many fearsome breeds of exotic bunnylopes in this collection of hand-illustrated — no clip art here — cards, which include the Black Angora Bunnylope, prized by Serbian and Norwegian nobility, and the Sumatran Tiger Bunnylope, fearsome in appearance but actually quite lazy. The wonderful illustrations and captivating stories of these mythical (or are they?) beasts makes this collection of letterpress cards a must see.

Doe-Eyed Bad Fruit Prints

Trolley Cards

I was recently introduced to a new card service called Trolley Cards, which carries greetings from a number of fantastic shops, including Egg Press, Hello! Lucky, Louella Press, Pancake & Franks, Paper*Ink, Red Cap Cards, Smock Paper, Snow & Graham, and Two Piglets.

Trolley Cards allows you to choose a card for whatever occasion is appropriate (all cards are $4.95). After you’ve chosen your card, you can “write” your message and schedule your card (up to 21 days in advance) for delivery. Your message will appear within the card in a nice, handwritten font and will be delivered to your addressee (US addresses only) on your chosen date. Optionally, you can include a gift card to one of many cool places, like iTunes, Amazon, Target, Home Depot, and more.

One of my favorite Trolley Cards details is the wax logo stamp (above, top), set in teal wax, on each card envelope that they send. What a lovely touch!

Weekly Wrap #11 : Pom Poms and Doilies

I’ve had this idea bookmarked since before Christmas, and I can’t believe that I haven’t featured it until now. I just love the incorporation of pom poms and doilies in this gift packaging idea by Flickr user tea_and_toast. Use any color of yarn that you like to create custom colored pom poms to coordinate with patterned gift wrap or the ever versatile brown paper wrapping, as shown above.
