Cute Letterpress Baby Shower + Birthday Invites

I let out a squee of delight when Brandi from Sweet Harvey sent over these absolutely darling letterpress baby shower and birthday invitation designs. Both were born as custom projects for clients who have agreed to allow Brandi to share the love and offer the designs as part of her signature line, so you can find both designs right in the Sweet Harvey shop!

Update (2/27/12): Sweet Harvey no longer offers these invitations as part of their product line.

Sweet Harvey Custom Letterpress Birthday Invitations

Sweet Harvey Custom Letterpress Birthday Invitations

I’m a total softy for this super cute giraffe illustration, and Heather, the client, must’ve been, too, because she requested that this little guy make an appearance on custom giraffe letterpress birthday invitations for her daughter Bryn’s second birthday. Heather wanted to go with more gender neutral colors while still having the invites be a bit “girly”, and I love the choice of a teal-y blue and rich red palette. Coordinating giraffe tags were created to attach to parting gifts at the party as a thank you to guests for coming. So cute!

Sweet Harvey Custom Letterpress Birthday Invitations

Brandi created these oh so sweet custom daisy letterpress baby shower invites for Amy, who wanted a design that was fresh and gender neutral since the sex of the baby had not yet been determined when the invitations were being created. She chose a lovely teal blue and deep brown color palette that works wonderfully for a boy or a girl, and I love the daisy illustration, with one daisy taller and one smaller to represent mother and child.

Playing with Books Giveaway Winner

Playing with Books Giveaway

Congratulations to Erin, who posted comment #69 and is the winner of the Playing with Books giveaway! Erin, I’ll be in touch with you shortly to let you know how to claim your prize.

Here’s what Erin had to say about paper:

I am a paper-hoarder. Any beautiful paper. Any cool postcard or announcement or greeting card. If I like it, I keep it. My poor husband is so gracious about the piles in the craft room. (I’m a lucky wifey!) I have a 1-year-old so don’t get much time to paper craft, but I cut up the hoards of paper I have and usually turn them into greeting cards so they can brighten someone else’s day the way they did mine! I’d love to check out this book and get more ideas for ways to use my paper.

Thanks to everyone for your wonderful giveaway entries. I’ll say it again —you gals and guys are so creative, and I love hearing about what you’re up to! Rock on with your paper projects!

Power Outage

Hi, everyone. I woke up to a power outage this morning, and since power was just restored, I think I’ll hold off until tomorrow on the posts that I had scheduled for today. Trust me, it’ll be worth the wait! Tomorrow is “baby day”, and I’ll be launching an absolutely fantastic giveaway, as well as sharing some wonderful custom work from one of my favorite letterpress shops. So, tune in tomorrow!

P.S. Speaking of great giveaways, today is the last day to enter to win a copy of Playing with Books, so head on over if you haven’t already and let us know how you’ve been having fun with paper recently!

1Canoe2 Things That are Long + 2011 Letterpress Calendars

Things That are Long Letterpress Print

Remember the awesome “Things That Are Round” letterpress print from 1Canoe2? Super cool, and I’m delighted to see that the second letterpress print in the “Things That Are…” series has been released. The latest print is called “Things That Are Long” and features, well, things that are long. And what clever things they are! “Things That Are Round” sold out in 24 hours, so you’ll probably want to pick up the new print pretty quickly, before it’s gone, too.

And is it too early to start talking 2011 calendars? I don’t think that I can hold back much longer, as I’ve been seeing more and more fantastic 2011 calendar designs over the past couple of weeks and am just bursting at the seams to start sharing. 1Canoe2 has four (!) letterpress calendars for the coming year, including a “Things That Are Long” calendar and a calendar with a neato nautical theme.
