Printable Invitations & Templates from Love vs. Design

Printable Holiday Gift Tags Love vs. Design

I’m already excited about what will be happening in the stationery world in 2011, and one of the things driving my excitement is finding out about the launch of brand new stationery and invitation shops like Love vs. Design. This wonderful new shop specializes in printable wedding and event invitations, as well as coordinating pieces like RSVP cards, insert cards, menus, and programs. I’m delighted by what I’ve seen so far in their shop, and I’m also jazzed about the printable templates that were created to celebrate their site launch.

The pretty, pretty printable holiday gift tags above (check out all of the gift wrap inspiration to be found in that one photo) are available for just $1.99, and eight additional holiday downloads, including greeting cards, recipe cards, and cupcake flags, can be downloaded for FREE! Pretty sweet, huh?

Weekly Wrap #53 : Printables in Pink

Gift Wrap Ideas

Printable Gift Wrap

Last week on my crafty blog, I posted a tutorial for easy to make cinnamon dough ornaments and gift embellishments. By the way, they smell great! As a little bonus to go along with the project, I’m sharing all of the gift wraps that I made for the project for free for a limited time, and I’ve designed a pink version of my printable holiday gift tags to coordinate with the papers. These files will be available for free through January 15, 2011. Links to all of the downloadable files are below.

L Letterpress Printing Plates by Elum

Remember the L Letterpress Machine? Yeah, I know that some of you may not want to (controversy!), but I’ve also heard from a number of you who have the machine and are interested in how to get the best possible results. If you’re wondering what exactly the L Letterpress is, you can check out my L Letterpress review and L Letterpress review update with my preliminary results and suggestions about how to get better results. I really appreciate those who have left comments about their results and have enjoyed the continuing commentary about the tool, and I’d love to hear more from those of you who are currently using the L!

Elum has just released a collection of 16 plates that you can use with the L Letterpress, a great development for those of you who have been looking for something beyond the plates currently offered by Lifestyle Crafts, the makers of the L. Each set in the new Elum line comes in a single, adhesive backed sheet, and you can cut out the elements and arrange as needed. And if you’re looking for custom photopolymer plates, both Elum and Boxcar Press offer this service. Both Paper Source and Scrapbook.com carry the original L Letterpress machine.

Here are some of the super cool plates from the Elum line. Lots of variety!

I wish I could add more commentary about my L Letterpress results, but I have to admit that my machine has been gathering dust over the past year, as I haven’t had a chance yet to order custom plates and put the tips from Boxcar into action. I am planning on ordering sometime early in the coming year, and I’ll keep you posted!

Mixtape Poster, Volume Two by Kate Bingaman Burt

Mixtape Screenprint Kate Bingaman Burt

The mixtape holds a special place in my heart, and these awesome, lovingly hand-illustrated mixtape posters by Kate Bingaman Burt (screen printed by Rand Renfrow) bring back so many great memories of exchanging tapes with my friends in junior high and high school and of me sitting in front of my boombox with the radio on, waiting for that one song to come on the radio station so I could immediately press the “record” button, which never quite worked out perfectly because I always either got the end of the dj talking or only pressed the button halfway down for a second or two, so there was always a squiggly, high speed part at the beginning of the song before I realized what was going on and pushed the button down the whole way. I still have several cherished mixtapes in my ever dwindling cassette collection, and I’m going to have to dig them out and give them a listen because I’m all nostalgic now. – found via Bangback

Vintage, Art Nouveau Inspired Save the Dates

Vintage Inspired Save the Date Cards

Ooh, get ready for some pretty, everyone! Ellie from Hello Tenfold sent along these absolutely beautiful vintage-inspired save the date cards that she recently created, and I was instantly taken by the soft and lovely design. Ellie was inspired by Art Nouveau designs and classic, vintage style weddings, and the result is ultra sophisticated, with lots of little details – a wonderful mix of vintage style typefaces, subtle stitched imagery, and a lovely floral-embellished frame – that make these save the dates special.

The gray-toned color palette shown here had me from the first second that I saw these lovelies, but the save the dates are fully customizable with your colors and text, and they’re available as postcards, as well as with envelopes.
