A Little Font Love…

Since I’ve been in the process of retooling the site, the Fontly Five has been on a bit of a hiatus, but the fontaholic in me has been itching to share some awesome fonts with you. So, without further ado, here are a few that have made me go “wowsa” recently.

Inspired by the lettering style of Ralph Steadman, Pintassilgo Prints’ Rockinstead is blotchy, wild, and all kinds of fantastic:

Esmeralda from Sudtipos/Guille Vizzari blends classic, stone-carved style capitals with traditional, calligraphic style lower case glyphs for a look that is strong and stylish with a modern touch:

Inspired by jam jars, Warhol’s “Tomato Soup”, chalk lettering, and baseball, Brand by Maximiliano Sproviero of Lián Types is a soft and lovely script face that is a great fit for everything from packaging to wedding invites. I’m really digging the inline and shade styles!

I’m a sucker for a good distressed font, and CPL Kirkwood by Kimmy Kirkwood immediately caught my eye. The Kirkwood family includes both slab and sans serif styles, as well as knockouts and extras that will look great in any project where you’re looking for a hand stamped, sunwashed, or grunge effect:

Grandma by Hannes von Döhren is a sweet, hand drawn serif from a little while back, and it will add a warm, handmade touch to everything from greeting cards to packaging:
