I never thought I’d find myself getting excited over presidential portraits, but you have to admit that this Hail to the Chief letterpress print from 1Canoe2 is pretty darn cool. The print features hand drawn illustrations of the 44 presidents and is letterpressed in navy blue ink on bright white Crane Lettra paper. Who are your favorites — in a purely non-political way? I’ve always thought that Andrew Jackson had the most rockin’ presidential hair ever, and I love Grover Cleveland’s bow tie.

Dandy Lion Letterpress Sea Creatures Cards

I became an instant fan of Dandy Lion Press earlier this year after discovering their wonderful collection of Bunnylopes cards, and I’m currently fascinated by their collection of letterpress sea creatures, featuring amazingly naturalistic, hand drawn illustrations of jellyfish, old wives fish (interesting story behind the name of this fish), puffer fish, cod, and more. I love that many of the cards are blue on blue, further emphasizing the aquatic theme.

One of my favorites, the Blue Lobster Card, with the subject oriented so it’s split down the center by the fold of the card:

Cloudy Collection : Teeming Up!

The newest Cloudy Collection is pretty awesome! Volume 2 / Edition 2, titled Teeming Up!, celebrates people’s and nature’s abilities to join together and persevere, which is a great message, made even more timely by the number of natural disasters and challenges that the world has been facing this year. Each letterpress print in the set was created by fantastically talented, artistic duos, and some of my favorites have prints in this collection, including Eight Hour Day, Lab Partners, and The Little Friends of Printmaking. The “Paper Crave” Collection at Felt & Wire

A couple of months back, my friends over at Felt & Wire asked me to curate a collection of my favorite paper goodies from their shop. Can you say Kristen in a paper candy store? My collection, entitled “Red, White, and Blue”, just went live in the Felt & Wire shop! As you can tell by the collection’s name, it features items that incorporate red, white, and/or blue. I’m serious about possibly stalking you if you create a beautiful white on white piece. And navy, well if you’ve read this site for any amount of time then you know how I feel about navy.

Roll & Tumble Letterpress Eat & Drink Prints

I’m really digging these letterpress Eat and Drink prints from Roll & Tumble Press. Inspired by tattoo art and created from hand carved woodcuts, the prints have an ultra masculine feel that bring to mind dark wood, humidors, and leather chairs. I think these would make a great addition to the walls of restaurants, kitchens, or “man caves”. Available for purchase separately or in a set.
