Foreign Language Letterpress Cards

Foreign Language Letterpress Cards

If you’re looking for lovely letterpress cards in French, Hebrew, German, or Greek, then Concrete Lace has you covered. Their foreign language occasion collections feature thank yous, birthday wishes, congratulations, and more everday greetings in four languages, and the style of each collection is inspired by the culture represented. The ornate illustrations and transparent white inks used in the Hebrew and Greek collections are so lovely, and I’m digging the cheery yellow and orange palette in the French collection and the colorful, folk art-inspired illustrations in the German collection.

Elephant Umbrella Letterpress Print

Alberto Cerriteno Elephant Umbrella Print

I’m such a big fan of Alberto Cerriteño’s illustrations, and this Elephant Umbrella letterpress print is simply awesome. The three-color limited edition print is part of Grincket, a new collaborative collection of art and clothing from Alberto and photographer, Luisa Vega. The super cute, wood mounted robot prints in the Grincket line are a must see, too!

Queenslake Letterpress Exhibition

2011 has been an incredibly tumultuous year so far, and I find myself having a hard time wrapping my mind around everything that has happened and that is currently happening around the world. Devastating floods and earthquakes, political turmoil, volcanic eruptions – it can be overwhelming to think about how many peoples’ lives have been affected and what they must be going through on a day to day basis just to survive.

I think that many of us are asking ourselves what we can do to help, and today I’ll be sharing a couple of ways that paper lovers can help, thanks to the creative thinking and generosity of those in the letterpress and stationery community.

Queenslake Letterpress Exhibition

This past January, Queensland, Australia was hit hard by disastrous flooding, filling towns with dirty, murky water and ruining many homes and businesses. As Jenna and Simon Hipgrave of The Hungry Workshop were waiting for their power to be restored, they started thinking about how they could assist in the flood relief efforts, and they started banding together some of Queensland’s leading artists and designers for what would become the Queenslake Letterpress Exhibition.

Each participating creative was given a brief to create a two color illustration that would instill hope and represent the courage and even the humor of Queenslanders. Illustrations were letterpress printed by The Hungry Workshop, and the fifteen prints cover a broad range of subjects, from iconic architectural elements to whimsical ode to “The Owl and the Pussycat”.

The limited edition prints are available online at The Hungry Workshop, and all profits will be donated to The Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal. See all of the available prints right here.

Paint Chip Wall Art by Allison Patrick

Paint Chip Wall Art

What do you get when you cross the humble yet versatile paint chip with a wonderfully imaginative maker like Allison Patrick? A fantastic collection of lovely and colorful patterned wall art, that’s what you get! I recently spotted Allison’s work over at All Things Paper, and I love what she’s done with the abundance of paint chips that she’s collected as a result of selecting paint colors for her own apartment, her parents’ house, and various interior design clients.

Parisian Peekaboo Save the Dates

These letterpress “peekaboo” save the date cards are seriously making my heart go pitter pat. The lovely letterpress cards were designed by Haute Papier for Bridget and Rick, who are having a romantic Paris wedding with a celebration back in the States after they get married. I must admit that I have a little (okay, a big) weakness for teeny tiny envelopes, and when they’re used in a way that’s as fun and inventive as in these save the dates, well, I get a little giddy.
