Well, ladies and gents, it’s time for my final calendar roundup of the season. And, wowsa, there have been lots of awesome ones this year, including the bunch that I’ll be sharing in just a minute. Studio on Fire’s Positive Apocalypse 2012 letterpress desk calendar is filled with wild, neon-colored (love!) illustrations for each month of the year. Contributing illustrators include Missy Austin, Brian Gunderson, Jolby, and Tuesday Bassen.

Blackbird Letterpress’ Here Comes the Rain calendar is pays tribute and sends hope to all of the places in the world that need rain right now. Letterpress printed from a linoleum cut and hand set type in seafoam green and orange.

Inspired by the thoughtfulness of sending (and receiving) correspondence and packages by post, this lovely 2012 calendar, with watercolor illustrations by Le Petit Elefant and lettering/layout by Paper & Type, features a different, monochromatic scene of communication on each seasonal page. Tear along the perforated line after you’re done with each page to create an art print, and come december, there’s a special postcard that you can use to send holiday wishes.

Wild Pulp’s unique 2012 calendar features 12 months of North American animals in bark. When each month is over, simply cut the calendar page in half at the soft, gray line and the Bark Animal can be framed for years of enjoyment.

The Pyramid Atlantic Art Center’s annual letterpress calendar, a collaborative fundraiser project that helps Pyramid’s facilities and programs, which are dedicated to the creation and appreciation of hand papermaking, printmaking, digital arts, and the art of the book. 2012 Calendar Designs, Part 8
