2011 Calendar Designs, Part 3

Thanks to all of you who have submitted your wonderful 2011 calendars so far! Today is part three of my super duper calendar roundup, and given the number of great calendar submissions that I’m receiving, I know that there will be at least a few more rounds after this one. If you’re looking for even more 2011 calendar options, you can check out parts one and two.

First up today are these fantastic letterpress calendars featuring 1950’s era illustrations by Jim Flora and printed by Yee Haw Industries. Tear off wall calendars are available in three designs: Swingin’ Sax, Stardust Moon, and Boogie-Beat Drummer:

Also available is a poster-sized letterpress calendar, featuring Flora’s 1954 woodcut illustration, Sheffield Island:

I’m loving all of the vivid, destination-inspired illustrations in JHill Design’s 2011 “Places I Have Never Been” calendars. Each month features a different place, a pattern inspired by the destination, and little tidbits of information about each. For the wall calendar, you can cut off the date portions of each month and frame the patterns as art prints.

And the 2011 “Places I Have Never Been” desk calendar can be transformed into patterned postcards when you’re finished with it:

Mufninc.’s 2011 printable calendar features a different, original floral pattern by Pauline Grayson for each month, and the patterned reverse sides can be used as art prints when the month is finished. All of the patterns coordinate, so you can hang them in a group, if you’d like.

Paper Squid’s 2011 poster/wall calendar features an original, dynamic illustration by Karyna Amador in your choice of five different colors. Custom colors can be requested, too! The calendar is printed on eco-friendly, 100% tree free cotton rag paper, and when the year is finished, you can cut off the date portion of the calendar and frame the illustration as an art print.

I’m loving all of the lovely, organic watercolor illustrations featured in Flora Douville’s 2011 wall calendar. Available in English or French.

Egg Press always has fantastic calendars, and this year’s offset printed desk calendar is no exception. Each month features a different super cool illustration, and on the reverse is a coordinating illustration with an area for your notes.

Linda & Harriett always does a bang up job in the calendar department, too, and this year’s options are absolutely terrific. The 2011 letterpress wall calendar features a different patterned illustration each month, and after the month is finished you can cut off the top of the page and use the patterned area as a postcard!

And the Linda & Harriett Perpetual Birthday Calendar is a brilliant idea, especially for those of us (erm, myself included) who have trouble remembering birthdays. That hot pink ink is awesome, too!

Lizard Press’ 2011 Luna Letterpress Calendar is gorgeous! The calendar features a Shakespearean quote and highlights the date of the full moon each month, giving the name of the full moon, too. The deep, rich navy backdrop is stunning.

2011 Calendar Designs, Part 2

Illustrator and pattern designer extraordinaire, Jessica Swift, has calendars featuring her awesome pattern work in three sizes: large and small wall calendars, and a cute desk calendar. I have to say that one of my favorite months is February. Gorgeous colors!

Typophiles will love this 2011 calendar by Heather Lins. Each month is interpreted typographically, like a type specimen book, and printed onto wood veneer. Typography AND wood veneer? Swoon! – via Felt & Wire Shop

Oddball Press’ 2011 Avalanche letterpress calendar is the latest addition to the Oddball Press Natural Disaster Calendar Series. You could look at this for hours and still find new details. Is that the devil chasing a butler on the ski lift wires? So much fun … for a disaster, at least!

Blackbird Letterpress pays homage to the mighty pelican in this amazing 2011 letterpress calendar. 10% of the proceeds from this limited edition calendar will go to help the Gulf Coast as it continues to clean up after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Pistachio Press has created two lovely letterpress calendars for 2011, including the Mid-Century Modern 2011 Letterpress Wall Calendar (great patterns!):

And this Fabulous 2011 Wall Calendar, a collaboration between Pistachio Press and Jim DeLucia:

Anna Cote’s 2011 Somewhe-re Desk Calendar is a collection of natures scenes from places she’s been. Each illustration in the calendar has been created from layers of digitally altered photos and her own drawings.

Printables from Emmy Lu Design Studio

Emmy Lu Design Studio has just undergone a major transformation and re-launched with a whole new look and a whole bunch of new printable paper goodies. All designs in the new printables line are handcrafted (via pen or paintbrush) and are happy, cheerful, and created to bring some sunshine to your day. Once you purchase your paper goodies, you can download them and print them as many times as you’d like, which makes them an excellent choice for holiday gift giving, too!

The new Emmy Lu line includes beautifully designed printable calendars (Modern Whimsy is shown above), note cards, recipe cards, and gift tags. I’m loving all of the handmade touches in these printable lovelies, including watercolor paintings and hand-drawn illustrations. 2011 Calendar Designs, Part 1

It’s finally that time of the year, time to share bunches of wonderful new 2011 calendar designs, and boy, there are so, so many beautiful calendars this year. I probably say that every year, but it’s true! Calendar design has been raised to an artform over the past few years, and I look forward with increased anticipation every year.

Ilee always creates something spectacular, and their 2011 letterpress and silkscreen calendar is filled with wonderful imagery, including a festive rabbit to ring in the new year (2011 is the year of the rabbit) and an October moon that glows in the dark. Awesome!

Already receiving plenty of buzz (and deservedly so) is this beautiful, modern, metallic gold foil and warm grey letterpress calendar by Seesaw Letterpress. I love that each page is perforated, so you can tear off the calendar part and frame the illustrations.

INK + WIT’s 2011 letterpress Totem Animals at Play calendar features a menagerie of amazing patterns and animal illustrations.

I have a huge owl obsession, so naturally I’m loving the 2011 Owl Lover calendar. This calendar is exciting because 1) it’s free!, and 2) it features downloadable owl illustrations from 30 talented illustrators. Choose your 12 favorite owlies, as well as the month that you’d like each owl to represent, print, and you have your own custom 2011 owl calendar!

Satsuma Press always creates such a beautiful calendar. The 2011 letterpress calendar is filled with soft and lovely illustrations to carry you through the year.

Inspired by the colors and shapes found in nature, Laura Macchia has created a vibrant, illustrated 2011 calendar, which features a different illustration each month.

Campbell Raw Press 2011 Calendars

Campbell Raw Press just released their new fall and winter collection, which is filled with gorgeous goodies, including three new 2011 calendars. I love the idea of their Book of Days, which is a journal-type calendar with room for you to make note of memories and details that take place on each day. This is perfect for keeping track of milestones and special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, and graduations. The Book of Days is available in three cover pattern options: Floral on Black or Dark Green Mums chiyogami (Japanese silkscreens), or Sky Charts (vintage pattern, Italian silkscreen).

Campbell Raw’s 2011 Letterpress Handbound Book Calendar is absolutely gorgeous! This book calendar was a labor of love, evident in details like the intricate Coptic stitch binding, handwritten calendar lettering, and background hand drawn vine patterns. Each calendar is printed on soft bamboo stock and covered with chiyogami paper. Two blank pages follow every two months of the calendar and are great spaces to make notes about special occasions and milestones.

Also available are letterpress wall calendars, also featuring hand lettering and hand drawn vine patterns letterpress printed onto soft bamboo paper. This beautiful calendar would make a lovely wall accent, in addition to being a useful reference throughout the year.
