I love seeing projects that designers and stationers create for themselves. Projects for ourselves and/or our own businesses can be some of the most challenging, but they can be extremely fun, too!
Color Box Design & Letterpress recently turned 10 years old (a big congrats on reaching this milestone!), and they marked this very special occasion with an old fashioned backyard birthday party. Since their business is custom invitations and stationery, they had to have an invitation that showcased their talents, and I can tell that this was one of those extremely fun projects. The results are so festive, the perfect mix of cute and classic.
Here is what Rhonda from Color Box had to say about this fantastic project:
The invitation was mailed in a custom envelope that was letterpressed on both sides, die cut, and hand assembled, with both vintage and current post office stamps adorning the outside. The design and printing of the invitation was done by me, Rhonda Camp Warren, the owner of Color Box, and the addressing was done by Traci Andrejko, one of our Color Box team members.
Inside the envelope were 3 cards: one in the shape of a party hat that shared the occasion for the party; a second in the shape of a gift that gave the details; and a third card that gave information about The Birthday Party Project, for whom we were collecting donations at the party.
We were thrilled with the outcome of this venture. Our guests made monetary donations, and we donated handmade tutus and lots of party supplies! All in all, it was a fun and worthwhile event.
And I just had to include a shot of the bodacious backyard celebration!
