Trendspotting : Blush & Blue

The 2016 Pantone Color of the Year, Rose Quartz & Serenity, really took off and inspired the stationery and paper goods scene in a big way last year. I’ve long loved the blue and pink color combo, and longtime readers will remember my obsession with navy blue & pink several years back.

So, it’s no surprise that I’m totally on the blush & blue train. This trendy color palette may have been influenced by Rose Quartz & Serenity, but it’s taken on a life of its own and grown to include a gorgeous range of colors that, on the blue side, include everything from the darkest blue-black to teal, lapis lazuli, and periwinkle. On the pink side are lovely shades that range from the palest peach to blush, bubblegum, mauve, and persimmon. I love that this color trend has so much flexibility, and it’s a beautiful match for the ongoing trend in foil details, especially gold and rose gold.

Below is a peek at some of the fantastic and inspiring blush and blue creations that I’ve spotted recently, and I look forward to seeing much, much more in the weeks and months to come!
