Gifts for Paper Lovers 2009 : Art Prints

The other day I realized that I’ve never done a holiday gift guide on this site. I know, I can’t believe it, either! And it’s a shame that I haven’t, because there are so many awesome gifts out there for paper lovers. Well, my gift guide eschewing ways are about to change because this year I’m doing my first (what will hopefully be) annual Gifts for Paper Lovers holiday guide.

Art prints are always at the top of my holiday wishlist, and I could fill my own gallery with the number of prints that I’m coveting at any given time. Digital, letterpress, gocco, screen printed — I love them all! Here’s a selection of what I’d like to see on the walls of my home this holiday season and all year long:

Nutcracker Paper Wreath

Maureen from Ink & Paper recently sent over some images of their entry in the R Home for the Holidays designer wreath decorating contest, which took place on November 16, and my jaw just about hit the floor when I first saw them. How amazing is this wreath? The contest was sponsored by RHome Magazine and hosted by the Virginia Historical Society to benefit the Richmond Ballet, and the theme was The Nutcracker. It’s hard to believe that this wreath only received 2nd place in the contest!

I love the use of the different types of paper crafts, including kusudama flowers, quilled paper snowflakes, and the crepe paper tutus on the ballerinas. Thanks to Maureen for letting me know about this incredible creation! Here a few of the lovely details:

Mirabel Press Nautical Baby Announcement

This nautical themed custom baby announcement by Mirabel Press is an absolute delight. I’m loving pretty much everything about it, from the soft blue and firecracker red palette to the nautical flags, anchors, and one of the most adorable whales that I think I’ve seen. So incredibly cute:

A Letterpress Christmas 2009 : afavorite design

I’m all about the retro, especially around Christmastime, so I was an instant fan of afavorite design’s letterpress holiday card collection, which includes ticket stub inspired holiday greetings (shown above), as well as cute little gnome cards, inspired by retro flash cards, ribbon candy greetings, and much more fun retro imagery. Rifle Paper Co.

Hi, everyone! Hope you had a wonderful weekend and/or Thanksgiving holiday. I’m so excited to get back into the swing of things around here. My only issue around this time of the year is whether or not I’m going to have enough time to feature all of the paper lovelies that I want to feature!

The internet has been all abuzz with word of the grand opening of Rifle Paper Co., and I’m buzzing right along with everyone because I’ve been such a fan of Anna Bond’s lettering and illustration work since I first saw one of her fantastic invitation designs. Because I’m in holiday mode, I went right to the holiday collection, which features hand lettered greetings and illustrations for the season, and I’m super excited about the coordinating gift wrap sheets, too!

Rifle Paper also designs stationery, art prints, and most excitingly, will be offering personalized wedding invitation templates soon. Here’s a look at the lovely holiday collection:
