Ward Jenkins Rubber Stamps

My love for illustration with a retro or mid-century feel seemingly knows no bounds, and I’m so excited that more and more illustrators are making their work available in different mediums. Ward Jenkins, a Portland based illustrator whose blog, The Ward-o-Matic, features lots of great little behind the scenes tidbits and sketches of his work, is a must see if you’re interested in illustration and the process.

I was pretty jazzed to find out that Ward has recently released a collection of holiday themed rubbers stamps with Rubber Soul. The stamps are awesome, and rubber stamps, in general, are great because they can be used in so many different types of projects. You can use stamps to create custom holiday cards, gift wrap, and gift tags. Or you can incorporate them into scrapbooking layouts and use them to embellish envelopes. The possibilities are limitless! Oh, and, of course, rubber stamps make fantastic stocking stuffers for paper crafter friends and family. Check out the entire collection of Ward Jenkins’ rubber stamps at Rubber Soul.

Elum Letterpress Holiday Cards

I’m so excited about the elum letterpress holiday card collection, and I’m loving the gift wrap designs that they’ve created, too! So many great cards, but I think that my favorite has to be Cornucopia (above), a card that is made up of 10 unique punch out gift tags that the recipient can use for their own gift giving. It’s a card and a little extra gift, all rolled into one! More eye candy from elum’s holiday collection:

Gifts for Paper Lovers 2009 : Gift Wrap

Now that you’ve gotten all of those craveable paper gifts, you may find yourself in the market for lovely wrappings and embellishments. Half the fun of giving a gift, at least for me, is in the wrapping. What paper will I use? What ribbon? What tags and/or embellishments? Is there something that I can use in an unexpected way for an extra special touch? I’ll also be the first to admit that I have asked for and received gift wrap as the gift itself, and I loved it!
