Publique Living PopMats and PopCards

I spotted Publique Living’s PopMats over at Two Trick Pony’s blog last week, and I’ve been thinking about them ever since. PopMats were inspired by children’s pop up books, and I think that they would be so much fun at a dinner party! Each mat features a pop up illustration — 15 different illustrations are available — and incorporates an area to write the name of your guests. These would make a great conversation starter, and the Balloons or Safari designs would be lots of fun at a children’s birthday party. You can purchase PopMats at the Publique Living shop, and they recently released a line of PopCards, too:

Bandito Design Co.

I told myself that I wouldn’t spend anymore this holiday season, but then I saw the awesome posters from Bandito Design Co., and I think that I may have to make an exception. Woodland animals with bling? Mayan king Pakal as the king of hearts? A productive octopus? C’mon, they’re awesome! And Bandito is having a half off sale through December 18, so you can pick up these super cool posters for as little as $7.50. I don’t think that I can resist!

Madeleine Stamer

I recently discovered the work of Australian artist and illustrator, Madeleine Stamer, and it was love at first sight. There’s an alluring mystery to her work, which is influenced by traditional folk art, particularly Mexican folk art. She also counts Danish artist Bjorn Wiinblad as a creative influence. I’m completely taken with her bold, surreal illustrations in black and white, though I have to say that the pops of pinks and reds in Wake Up Sleepy (below) make it one of my favorites:

Weekly Wrap #4 : ABC, Easy as …

I love the ABC gift wrap ideas that Brooke at Inchmark shared on the Design*Sponge guest blog back in November. Such an easy and fun way to personalize gifts at any time of the year! Plus, how could I resist a gift wrap technique that involves candy dots? If you want to use initials from script fonts (or an computer fonts) on your tags, you can always print them onto cardstock and cutout in the shape that you want, too. Lots of possibilities!

Letter C Christmas Cheer Box

I love these Christmas Cheer boxes by Letter C. They’re filled to the brim with all sorts of pretty gift tags in a variety of shapes and sizes, as well as red/white and brown/white twine for tying them to gifts, lovely little glassine bags, and two teeny tiny booklets that you can use to keep track of the gifts that you’ve wrapped. I think that these would make fantastic hostess gifts or gifts in gift exchanges. Who doesn’t need an extra little gift tag stash for last minute wrapping?
