Gifts for Paper Lovers 2009 : Art Prints

The other day I realized that I’ve never done a holiday gift guide on this site. I know, I can’t believe it, either! And it’s a shame that I haven’t, because there are so many awesome gifts out there for paper lovers. Well, my gift guide eschewing ways are about to change because this year I’m doing my first (what will hopefully be) annual Gifts for Paper Lovers holiday guide.

Art prints are always at the top of my holiday wishlist, and I could fill my own gallery with the number of prints that I’m coveting at any given time. Digital, letterpress, gocco, screen printed — I love them all! Here’s a selection of what I’d like to see on the walls of my home this holiday season and all year long:

Halloween Paper Roundup, Part 1

Halloween certainly doesn’t touch Christmas and the winter holidays in the paper goods popularity department, but there are still lots of rockin’ cards, invitations, and other spooky paper-type items to be found. Here are some of my favorites:

Letterpress Halloween cards with vintage inspired illustrations from Hello! Lucky (illustrations by Lab Partners):

Mindy Wilson Poplar Leaves Gocco Print

Poplar Leaves Gocco Print

Poplar Leaves Gocco Print

Like it or not — I definitely like it — fall is on its way. The weather was a bit chilly here over the weekend, and a touch of autumn was in the air. It made me think of all of the wonderful things that are to come in what is one of my favorite, if not my favorite, seasons. Spiced apple cider, pumpkins everywhere, warm and comforting foods, Halloween, and beautiful falling leaves, like those found in the colorful Poplar Leaves Gocco print by artist Mindy Wilson. See more of Mindy’s wonderfully evocative photos and prints over here.
