Bespoke Press Illustrators Project

I think I’m in love with Bespoke Press’ Illustrators Project, a collection of limited edition letterpress prints featuring lovely illustrations by different artists and illustrators. Gorgeous!

You can read more about each individual illustration and its creator over at Bespoke Press’ blog, and you can purchase the prints from Bespoke’s Etsy or online shop. Here’s a peek at some of my favorites from the collection:

2009 Neiman Marcus Christmas Book

The 2009 Neiman Marcus Christmas book, released earlier this month, is a feast for the paper lover’s eyes. First, the front and back covers feature beautiful, ornate quilled paper creations by Yulia Brodskaya:

The book is accompanied by a fantasy gifts video, which features quilling in action. Very cool!

And, inside the Christmas Book, you’ll find lots of inspirational paper accents, including paper snowflakes and interesting use of book pages as both photo backdrops and as accessories and clothing. Love it. Many thanks to Sonia for the tip!

Ruffian Paper Doll

Eloise Corr Danch Ruffian

Eloise Corr Danch, whose work I’ve admired since I first laid eyes on it earlier this year, recently gave me a head’s up about her latest historical costume paper sculpture, and it’s incredible. The sculpture is a collaboration between Eloise and New York designers, Ruffian, whose book, Ruffian: Inside Out, was used to create the 19th century silhouette. A-mazing!

Ruffian Paper Doll was created to be a part of the opening gala for the Museum of Arts and Sciences’ exhibition, Slash: Paper Under the Knife. If you’re in New York City, you can stop by from now until April 4, 2010 to check it out, and find out more about this sculpture and Eloise Corr Danch’s work here.
