Weekly Wrap #80 : DIY Citrus Stripe Boxes

Citrus Slices SVG + Studio + Download Box Template

It’s time for more fun with a box that you may remember from my owl favor box and Father’s Day shirt and tie gift box projects. It really is a versatile box; you can dress it up for most any occasion, and before all is said and done, I probably will!

This time around, I wanted to do something that said “summer”, and I created citrus slice templates and cut out loads of them using my trusty die-cutting machine. Then, I attached them to the boxes using double-sided adhesive and, voilà, citrus stripe boxes!

Free SVG Citrus Slices

You can use the citrus slices in scrapbooking projects or to embellish handmade cards, or use them to create paper details (napkin rings, cupcake toppers, drinking straw embellishments) for summertime parties. I’ve zipped up free downloadable SVG, GSD, DXF, and Silhouette Studio files (half slices and full slices) for those of you who have digital cutters, as well as a PDF with all of the files if you don’t have a die-cutter and would like to cut the slices out by hand.

Also included in the download are SVG, GSD, DXF, and PDF versions of the box template (the PDF has instructions for assembling the box), and I created a Silhouette Studio file of the box template that includes perforations. Oh, and I’m also sharing the citrus-colored striped papers so you can make citrus striped boxes, too. Lots of fun stuff going on in this download!

Download the Files

Rocket Favor Packaging

The July 4th holiday is coming up on Monday here in the U.S., and these super cute rocket favors, featured in the July issue of Martha Stewart Living, would be such a fun and festive addition to any Independence Day table. Give small toys and candy to the kids, or fill the rockets with firecrackers for the adults!

Download the free printable templates for the rocket favors over at Marthastewart.com.

I’ll be taking the long holiday weekend off, but while I’m gone please check out parts 1 and 2 of the series about Joie Studio’s first year at the National Stationery Show (lots of great information for those of you who are considering exhibiting at the show), and have a listen to my podcast with Brittni from Papernstitch.

Have a great weekend (and a Happy 4th to those of you who are celebrating), and I’ll see you back here on Tuesday!

Weekly Wrap #67 : Navy Blue Love

Navy Blue Gift Wrap

My heart went pitter pat the moment that I spotted these lovely patterned wrapping paper sheets and boxes at Smock. Oh, I do love navy blue and pattern, too! These bold blue packaging options are part of Smock’s Oxford suite, which I’m really digging not just because I happen to love the colors, but also because it has a lot of guy appeal. Definitely a collection to keep in mind for the upcoming Father’s Day holiday.

Holy cute! Lynn from Jinjerup recently released this collection of printable animal gift boxes, and they’re too cute for words. Seriously, I’m really trying hard to hold back a full on out loud squee when I look at these cuties. The gift box collection includes ten different designs: a pink and a brown owl, a chick, a bunny, a dog, a monkey, a frog, a squirrel, a panda, a pig, and a kitty. Each box set also includes a ribbon and note sheet template, instructions, and a visual guide for assembling the boxes. These would be perfect as favor boxes for a baby shower or birthday party, don’t you think?
