Cameron Moll Colosseo Letterpress Prints

I spotted this breathtaking letterpress print via @feltandwire on Twitter, and my jaw was on the floor as soon as I saw it. Cameron Moll, who also created a jawdropping typographic rendition of the Salt Lake Temple, has created a representation of the Roman Coliseum that is beyond words. Colosseo was handcrafted character by character over the course of 250 hours (for the original 24″ x 16″ poster — shown above is the smaller letterpress print, which features a portion of the larger artwork). Characters from the Goudy Trajan and Bembo Pro typefaces form the Coliseum, and the poster and print were letterpressed by Bryce Knudson of Bjørn Press in Provo, Utah.

A poster of glyphs, based on the work of master Italian calligrapher M. Giovambattista Palatino and hand-traced by Cameron for use in Colosseo, is also available. If typophiles aren’t drooling yet, then I think this letterpress poster will do it:

Suzy Ultman Letterpress Recipe Cards

It was love at first sight when I spotted these letterpress recipe cards and tags at the Igloo Letterpress booth during the National Stationery Show, and they just became available for purchase at the Igloo Etsy shop. Squee! They feature super cute illustrations by Suzy Ultman, and they’d make a great gift for all of the foodies and home cooks in your life. The set includes 12 recipe cards and 12 tags for sharing and labeling your favorite dishes when you take them to potlucks or give them as gifts.

Aspen Letterpress Wedding Invitations

These gorgeous teal and chartreuse letterpress wedding invitations from Parrott Design Studio would be refreshing at any time of the year, but they’re particularly refreshing for me during what has been a very hot summer week.

Brooke and Marcus are getting married this summer in Aspen, Colorado, and Sarah Parrott took inspiration from the wedding location to create this oh so lovely wedding suite, which features aspen leaves, blind debossed mountains (love!), a ski lift, and a fantastic custom map of downtown Aspen. The bride completed the beautiful look by using vintage stamps that she collected as postage for the invitations.
