Bold Peacock Letterpress Invitations

The bold colors on this letterpress project (not to mention the awesome peacock illustrations), printed by Studio on Fire and designed by Sheraton Green from CSA Design, immediately caught my eye. Would you guess that these are wedding invitations? Oh, to be invited to this wedding and receive one of these invitations!

Fold Out Paper Rings

Laser Cut Paper Flower Rings

These paper rings are amazing, aren’t they? Part of a collection of fold out paper jewelry, each of the twelve ring designs represents a birth month flower. The designs are laser cut and engraved from textured white paper, and they were created in an “All Year Rings” sheet or individually as “Birthday Ring” greeting cards. The project was a collaboration between Tithi Kutchamuch and Nutre Arayavanish under the name of TT:NT. – found via d. sharp

National Stationery Show 2009 Exhibitor List

National Stationery Show

It’s almost time for the 2009 National Stationery Show, which starts this weekend at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. I won’t be attending this year, but if you’re a paper lover and you’re in the area, then you have to drop by to check out all of the beautiful paper goodies that will be on exhibit.

I’ve already seen a few sneak peaks — Yellow Owl Workshop and Sub-Studio over at design*sponge, and Elum at Style Me Pretty — and if these are any indication of the awesomeness that will be on display at the NSS this year, then you’d better brace yourself to be overcome by the paper cravings!

For those of you who will be attending the show, I’ve compiled the list below. These would be my must see booths if I were going to the show (and the show would have to last at least a week for me to get to all of them, I’m sure!), and I’m very thankful to all of you who have contacted me to let me know where you’re going to be. Have a great time, everyone!

More Security Envelope Creativity

A couple of weeks ago, I featured a completely clever little house made by Rebecca of This Chicken using the recycled interiors of security envelopes. I just discovered, thanks to Felt and Wire, that you can also use the patterned innards of the humble security envelope to make very pretty wrappers for soap:

How cool is this?!

Felt and Wire also introduced me to the work of artist Nancy Shapiro, who uses recycled security envelopes, as well as the reply cards that fall out of magazines, to create these incredible collages:

I’m now looking at security envelopes in a completely new light and won’t be so quick to toss them in the the recycling bin.

How to Make Jeffery Rudell’s Very Favorite Box

Box Template

When an incredibly talented paper artist shows you how to make his “very favorite box of all time” and offers you the template to download, do you really have to think twice about it? Jeffery Rudell has done just this and has very detailed instructions, not to mention a free download, over at Craftstylish. Eep, and how awesome is that faux bois paper? You can purchase it in a variety of colors — including teal and lime green — from Hambly Screen Prints.
