Whimsy Press is having a terrific sale in honor of Mother’s Day. Save 30% on their full line of snazzy journals when you purchase them on the Whimsy Press website now through Mother’s Day. Enter MOMROCKS at checkout to receive the discount.
While you’re perusing, you should also check out Whimsy Press’ boundary free, double-sided note cards. Flip them any which way you like; since they’re blank inside, you decide which side is up, down, front, and back.

I was recently introduced to Amy Smyth Made It, a wonderfully funky stationery line by illustrator turned paper pusher Amy Smyth. As I pored over the site, I found it very difficult to choose just a few favorites to feature, so be prepared for the images to come (I’m sure you don’t mind, right?).
I really dig the illustration style, which has such a spirited attitude, and the colors that Amy Smyth uses - lots of subdued, sophisticated naturals used in a bold way.
Amy Smyth Made It offers a little bit of everything, from baby and bridal invitations to gift tags, moving announcements, holiday, and notecards. I’d advise you to do as Amy Smyth suggests and “write a freakin’ note,” if only so you’ll have an excuse to buy her paper goods.

These Baby Flash Cards by Wee Gallery are absolutely adorable. I love the fun, playful illustration style set in black and white. Even if you don’t have a little one around, you could frame the wee works of art to create your own wonderful wall art. You could also turn the flash cards into a cool urban mobile with a nifty stainless steel mobile kit. Ingenious!
Wee Gallery’s Baby Flash Cards are available in three sets: original, sea, and farm (pictured above). $14.95 per set at Sparkability.
ETA: Ooh, it looks like Wee Gallery actually has two additional new sets of flash cards, garden and jungle, available from their site. I must collect them all.

Nothing says “I love you” like a cheeky Mother’s Day card. I love what Bella Muse has to offer for the day when we all let our mommies know how much they mean to us. Just be sure that your mom has a good sense of humor if you’re going to give her a Mother’s Day card with a cleaver on it or, well, the police may have to get involved. $3.50 each at Bella Muse.

How would I describe Ayumi Piland’s illustration style? Well, it’s like a big ball of whimsical kawaii combined with a healthy dose of retro style and kick butt color schemes. However you describe it, you can’t deny that the illustrations put a smile on your face, and who can resist a card that makes you smile?
Ayumi’s greeting cards and limited edition prints are available through the APAKSTUDIO Etsy shop. Each greeting card is screenprinted by hand using a Gocco. Pictured, clockwise from top left: Bunny Berry, For You, and Bunny Family cards. $4.00 each.

There have been so many great paper related posts around the web recently, featuring everything from book binding information to paper money art, with much to be found in between:
- A most excellent list of book binding resources and D.I.Y. book binding tips at freshly{blended}. A must see for anyone who is interested in book binding.
- Paper Forest featured a link to a fascinating article called “Paper Robots and the Future of Advertising”, which features Butterfly Stroke, a Japanese company that incorporates paper toys into their advertising campaigns. Hopefully, this is a trend that will catch on here in the US!
- Make your own samurai rabbit paper toy through the link at Make. He’s fierce, yo!
- Rag & Bone just finished up an awesome series on Paper Money. Much inspiration and eye candy to be found there!
- Pretty, pretty gift tags from Every Jot and Tittle (love that name!) featured at Something Old, Something New.
- Bloesem featured the modern, innovative notebook organization system called Start Here. You can link the notebooks together to make one super notebook of organization. Very cool!

I was so excited to hear about Jotter, a new blog that is all about the beauty of the written word, and all of the great accessories that come along with it. You know what this means, don’t you? Lots more paper cravings!
Though Jotter was just launched earlier this month, they already have so many wonderfully inspirational and craving creating posts. Recent entries include features about Letter Lover, way cool gift tags made from maps of Paris by Soluci Designs, and the spring sale at one of my favorite letterpress studios, Egg Press.

I’m digging all of the pretty patterned Wooster & Prince paper goods at Soleberry. Above, intricate patterns in blue and yellow printed on coasters. How fancy! I think these would make great framed wall art, too.
Above, wonderfully patterned notes and matching listpads in Hudson (turquoise and olive), Sullivan (sunflower yellow and grey), and Thompson (wine and pomegranate) patterns. Love the subdued, sophisticated color palettes.
