Paper Goods Sales, Deals, and Events

It may seem a little early to be talking about Christmas and holiday things on Halloween – by the way, Happy Halloween! – but it DID snow here this weekend, so I’m taking this as a go ahead from Mother Nature to talk about Christmas-y type goodies.

Holiday cards, invitations, and stationery have started popping up all over, and along with all of the wintertime paper pretties come plenty of sales, deals, giveaways, open houses, and more. It can be tough to keep up with everything that’s going on during this time of the year, so I set up a special section of the site where you can find current sales, deals, and events going on in the world of paper goods.

I plan on keeping this page active throughout the year, but this seemed to be just the right time of year to launch it. A banner will be running in the right column on the site so you can click over and check out what’s new anytime, and I’ll be adding a link to the shop area of the site soon, too.

Weekly Wrap #92 : FORMA

2012 Calendar Designs, Part 4

One, two, three, four … wow, I’m already up to part four of my 2012 calendar design roundup. Are you ready to set your eyes on ten more awesome calendars? Enough with the dilly-dallying. Let’s get started!

Ooh, what a great calendar from Old School Stationers. The rounded corners and petite spiral binding are great touches, not to mention the awesome letterpress printing, of course. Mmm … blueberry pie in July.

Gingibear’s 2012 Owl Calendar is totally hoo-tiful. Sorry, but as an owl-loving geek, I had to go there. It really is a super cool calendar – my favorite month has to be October. Chubby vampire owl!

Satsuma Press’ letterpress calendars are always so understated and beautiful, and this year’s design is no exception. The calendar features twelve original illustrations letterpress printed in a palette of slate, palest pink, cranberry, peacock, ochre, leaf, and mist.

Impressed Design’s 2012 letterpress calendar features twelve monthly-inspired outfits, accessories and Batman capes included.

Petit Paperie’s sleek, gocco-printed calendar was inspired by lines, geometric shapes, textiles, and modern pattern. Each page includes two months and a different hand drawn illustration by Michelle Lam of Petit Paperie.

I always look forward to seeing the bold, bright illustrations in Nikki McClure’s yearly calendar.

Colleen Ellse’s 2012 letterpress calendar was inspired by the change of seasons at her local Audobon Wildlife Sanctuary, and each month features a hand-drawn illustrations of the flora and fauna that she observed during her visits.

This colorful little calendar by Khristian A. Howell features some of her most popular prints of the year, and its small size makes it a great stocking stuffer or hostess gift idea.
