Goodbye, Summer

Goodbye, Summer

Labor Day already? Really? I guess I always say this about holidays since they tend to sneak up on me, but it truly is hard to believe that it’s just about the end of summer already. The past few months have brought so many changes around here. A new (temporary) home back in the place where I grew up, a multi-state house hunt and, finally, a house!

We closed on our first house last week, and my Labor Day this year will be filled with planning and work on what is certain to be a pretty extensive home renovation project. I’ll see you back here tomorrow with some craveable paper goodies plus a great giveaway that do-it-yourself types won’t want to miss, and I hope that all of you who are observing the Labor Day holiday have a good day, filled with rest, relaxation, and maybe some tasty food, too.

Types of Cake Postcard | Jillian Nickell

It may be a bad idea to shop for food on an empty stomach, but it’s most certainly a great idea to look for paper goods on an empty stomach because you can end up discovering some pretty tasty stationery. This clever postcard by Chicago-based illustrator and screenprinter, Jillian Nickell, features literal interpretations of nine different types of cake, including devil’s food, Texas sheet, and my personal favorite, Black Forest (love the woodgrain and the little branch/leaf detail!).

You can pick up this delicious postcard (also available as a full size print) in Jillian’s shop, and while you’re there be sure to have a look at more of her incredible illustrated prints and stationery. Check out a preview below:
