The Wedding Invitation Ideas Lookbook

Wedding Invitation Ideas Lookbook

Yay, the Wedding Invitation Ideas lookbook is here! The lookbook has been my pet project for the past few months, and I was so jazzed to be able to launch yesterday.

When I originally decided to do a lookbook, I really wasn’t sure what to expect. I was aiming for 25 pages or so, but when I saw just how many gorgeous invitations that designers were submitting, I knew that it was going to reach well beyond my initial aim. The lookbook features over 250 invitation designs from 85+ invitation designers, and I’m so thankful that so many talented designers and design studios could be a part of the project.

If you’re on the hunt for just the perfect invitation for your wedding celebration, then I hope that you’ll be adding the lookbook to your list of resources, and if you’re obsessed with pretty paper, then the lookbook has much to offer you, too!

Click on any non-linked image area in the box above to launch the lookbook in a full-size window.

You can also download a PDF copy to have on hand as a resource. It’s a 17Mb file, so heads up that it may take a few minutes to download.

Graphic + Glitz Wedding Invitations & Paper Details

Pink Black + Gold Wedding Invitations

Brace yourselves, everyone, because I think that we’re all about to do some serious swooning. Okay, so I’ve got a head start and am already in full-swoon mode, but I don’t want anyone to get hurt by swooning out of a chair onto the floor, so don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Pink Gold Black Wedding Invitations

Oh. My. Gorgeous. This amazing wedding invitation suite and coordinating paper details were designed by Amy Hardy of Design 8 Days for an inspirational shoot, inspired by a glamorous Graphic & Glitz inspiration board and styled by Maddy Hague of the Inspired Bride, with an awesome team that also included Crystal Kluge, Shauna Younge, and Paper Antler.

Here’s what Amy has to say about this glitzy project:

With a unique wedding theme like “Graphic and Glitz,” this wedding suite had to speak loudly with class. I combined bold typography with elegant hand lettering by Crystal Kluge to convey the overall message. Gold ink and chevron patterns compliment the graphic type. Details such as gold star confetti in the Save the Date envelopes added just the right amount of glitz and charm. Black and white twine with white lettering on black envelopes set the wedding’s classy, yet personal, tone. The couple’s circle monogram was a solid brand on everything from the invitations to the chocolate packaging.

I just have to add that the black, pink, and gold color palette is seriously sexy. Seriously. I’ll have to go find a fainting couch so I can swoon some more, but before I go I have to give one more shout out to the creative team that put this project together, and I have to tell you that you can see many, many more paper and non-paper lovelies from this photoshoot over at The Inspired Bride.

Lauren + Bryan’s Costa Rica Wedding Invitations

Vintage Airmail Letterpress Wedding Invitations

Graphic designer, Bryan Crabtree, and his fiancee, Lauren, tied the knot in Costa Rica in early April, and Bryan designed a stunning, vintage airmail-inspired wedding suite for the occasion. The suite, which was letterpress printed by Studio on Fire, features all sorts of little details – a Costa Rican stamp, old school airplane illustrations, custom emblem/stamp graphics, fantastic handwriting type, and topographical map lines for added texture – that take this invitation suite to the next level.

Luxe Paperie recently unveiled their gorgeous new Nami Couture letterpress wedding invitation line, designed by artist, Yasuko Nakamura, and inspired by Japanese culture. The lovely designs are letterpress printed onto luxurious cotton paper, and you can purchase a suite or a la cart – whatever best suits your needs.

10% of the proceeds from the collection will be donated to the 2011 Japan tsunami and earthquake relief efforts and, in the future, similar humanitarian relief efforts. A lovely collection, and a great cause!

Invitation Tuesday : Invitation Crush Roundup #1

Invitations

Shown above, clockwise from top left:Unique Wine Stain + Cork Save the Dates by Three Little Words;  whimstical wedding invitations by The Woodberry Press; clever Composition Notebook Wedding Invitations by Letter Box Ink; gorgeous Indian-Inspired Wedding Invitations by Lion in the Sun; sweet Pink + Gray Woodgrain Wedding Invites by Cricket Printing

We’re in the fourth week of “Invitation Tuesday” here at Paper Crave (yay!). I’ve really enjoyed featuring a couple of invites over here each week, and I hope that you’re getting inspiration from the invitation eye candy, too!

Every few weeks, I’ll be bringing a bit of Invitation Crush over here in the form of a quick roundup so you can have a look at a few of the great invitations, announcements, and save the dates that I’ve been featuring over there. Today is the first roundup, and it allows me to see that I seem to be on “woodgrain” and “clever” kicks lately. It’s funny how we can get into patterns (or visual obsessions, as the case may be) without even realizing!
