Dani Press

Dani Kreeft is the maker behind Vancouver-based dani press and has created a wonderful line of “stationery with a story”, taking stacks of her own travel photography from places like South Africa, Panama, New Zealand, and France, pairing them with typewriter text, and giving the greetings and postcards an overall warm, nostalgic aesthetic that’s both comforting and uplifting.

In addition, Dani recently launched “We Love Letters”, an Indiegogo campaign, with the goal of having her stationery line in one store in each of the 50 states in the U.S. and each of the 10 provinces and 3 territories in Canada by the end of next year. 10% of dani press profits are donated to These Numbers Have Faces, a non-profit organization that provides leadership loans to over 300 university students in impoverished communities in Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. City Notecards

The summer travel season is in full swing, and this clever new postcard collection from Designs by Val is sure to bring a bit of wanderlust to those of us who have travel on our minds at this, or any, time of the year.

The City Notecards collection was inspired by Valerie from Designs by Val’s love of travel and the handwritten hello. The vintage airmail-style designs in the collection feature five cities that have significant meaning for Valerie : San Francisco is a city very close to home because of family; New York was the first city that Valerie officially traveled on her own; Paris is where she went to visit an old friend and to experience beautiful gardens, art, architecture, French pastries & macarons, and all sorts of additional Parisian loveliness; London is her perfect place to end a month of traveling; and Vancouver is her beautiful hometown.

All of the notecards are printed locally on 100% post-consumer recycled fiber, and Valerie hopes to add many more cities to the collection in the future.

Wood Veneer Postcards by Formes Berlin

My eyes just about bugged out of my head when I spotted these amazing wood veneer postcards by Formes Berlin over on Etsy recently. The unique postcards are made from special, high-quality wood veneer that is laser cut with designs that can be folded and/or punched out to create wonderful, three dimensional objects.

You’ll find everything from flower gardens (above) to owls, trees, and rabbits on these super cool postcards, and the cards themselves can be written on with pen, pencil, or marker, just like regular paper. How awesome would it be to receive one of these in the mail?!
