The Bungaloo Posters and Art Prints

The Bungaloo Screen Print

It seems that I’ve formed a bit of an obsession over gig posters. My love for them isn’t new, but I’m discovering so many awesome, new to me artists lately, including John Vogl, aka The Bungaloo, whose imaginative work would look great on my walls. And you’ve got to read some of the humorous comments that he’s made in the individual poster and print descriptions. Hilarious!

Emma van Leest Papercuts

Emma van Leest Papecuts

I am in complete awe over the evocative work of Melbourne, Australia based paper artist, Emma van Leest, whose intricate papercut work is truly amazing. I love the layered, dimensional quality of her work and her use of different colored papers to achieve this look in certain works. Her attention to detail is rather mindblowing:

Luke Drozd

Luke Drozd

Artist and illustrator Luke Drozd’s work is a little unsettling, somewhat disturbing, and totally awesome. If you’re lucky enough to be attending Flatstock 24, a poster show presented by the American Poster Institute this week, then you’ll undoubtedly see the poster (above) that Drozd created for the show, and you can find more of his work at Gigposters and in his Flickr stream, too. Here’s a peek:

Tugboat Printshop

Tugboat Printshop

Absolutely amazing work coming from Paul Roden and Valerie Lueth, the artists behind Pittsburgh, PA based Tugboat Printshop. Tugboat specializes in incredibly intricate woodcut prints, like the gorgeous 4 color woodcut printed wedding invitations shown above. A bit more from the Tugboat Printshop portfolio:

You can purchase select prints in the shop on the Tugboat site, and you can see more about their printing process both on their site and in their Flickr stream. I love looking at the in process and finished woodcuts, which are works of art in and of themselves. Swoon…

Paper Artist Daniel Mar

Daniel Mar Paper Art

I recently spotted the work of French paper artist, Daniel Mar, over at Paper Forest, and I had to see more so I immediately headed over to his portfolio, which is filled with so many beautiful, intricate projects. I love the interplay of papercuts and sculptural paper elements that Daniel uses to create dimension. So inspiring!
