Nature Bound Shadowbox Art by Janet Guertin

Graphic designer and book artist Janet Guertin’s fascination with shadowboxes inspired her to create Nature Bound, an amazing series which combines layered, cut paper with secret, miniature surprises for finished pieces that are as intriguing as they are beautiful.

For this intricate paper art project, Janet wanted to create books that could be displayed in a unique way, giving the viewer an a-ha! moment when he or she realizes that parts of the paperscape are books. Yes, little, miniature books! How awesome is that?! Each shadowbox is 15” h x 7” w x 1.5” d and the books range in size from 2” in diameter up to 4”. All but the butterfly are removable.

Suzy Ultman Watercolor Art Prints

These new watercolor art prints by Suzy Ultman make for a wonderful way to start off the week, don’t you think? Watercolor is a new medium for Suzy, and I’m hoping that she continues to create with it because the results are absolutely lovely.

The sweet little lady above, entitled “Morning Hair”, has a fun and fruity mix of a ‘do that would make Carmen Miranda proud, and the trio of cutie pies below, aka the choupinettes, was inspired by a recent trip to Paris. Each 8″ x 10″ print is an original Suzy Ultman watercolor reproduced on archival quality, Arches Aquarelle Rag textured paper using chromalife inks, and I think that these little sweeties would make wonderful Christmas gifts!

Lisa Jones Illustrated Prints

I spotted this sweet mouse print by Lisa Jones on Pinterest recently and immediately had to check out more of her work. Lisa has such an adorable illustration style that I think it would be hard not to fall head over heels for these darling prints.

Tad Lapin Illustrated Posters

These illustrated posters by Tad Lapin are so darn adorable! The cute posters feature sailor cats, masked bunnies, and groaaring lions and are also available as postcards for those of you who want to mail these cuties. Most of the poster designs seem to be sold out on Ted’s site (the postcards are in stock), but they’re all available over in the Psikhouvanjou shop.

Illustrated Science Prints by Rachel Ignotofsky

I spotted one of Rachel Ignotofsky’s awesome, hand lettered and illustrated art prints recently and, for one of the first times since I got to play with hydrochloric acid in high school chemistry class, I was excited about science learnin’!
