Secrets and Symbols of Deseret

Something amazing happens when the AIGA, The Mandate Press, and Dan Christofferson (aka BeeTeeth) team up for a project. Remember the awesome letterpress tattoo posters that I featured back in February? Yep, amazing. Well, they’re at it again with a new project, created for next year’s AIGA conference, which will be held in Salt Lake City.

Dan, who designed the artwork, is a bit of an expert in interesting (and sometimes absurd) Utah history, and his knowledge inspired this tarot card-like letterpress pamphlet that features fun highlights like “an engorged seagull, a solid gold railroad spike, a cryptic alphabet” and a freaky, bearded skull dude, who was nicknamed “the Destroying Angel of Mormondom”. Totally fun, no?

The Mandate Press printed this kick butt piece, which was no small feat, I’m sure. Check out additional images and details about this unique project right here.

Wine and letterpress – what a great pairing! Tallu-lah just launched a new line of wine-themed greeting cards that’s sure to be a hit with wine connoisseurs. The new line, aptly called Vino, features six fun, fresh designs hand-drawn by Tallu-lah’s founder, Danielle Spinetta, whose love for wine inspired this unique letterpress collection.
