Julia Rothman for Hello! Lucky

Julia Rothman Hello! Lucky Letterpress

I wanted to post this yesterday, but the server that the site is hosted on was extremely s-l-o-w for some reason, and I ended up giving up after a little while. Anyway, we seem to be back to normal today…

Spotted over at Design*Sponge and re-spotted during my hunt for Valentine’s paper goodies, illustrator Julia Rothman’s collection for Hello! Lucky is, simply put, fabulous. I love it when independent businesses and artisans/designers collaborate, and the results of this collaboration are drool-worthy.

Julia Rothman Hello! Lucky Letterpress

The collection features eight letterpress card designs, including everything from birthday to thank you cards, and gift wrap is on the way in February. Both the cards and gift wrap are printed on 40% post-consumer waste recycled paper, so the collection is eco friendly, too!

Valentine’s Day at Paper Source

Paper Source has some lovely paper things for Valentine’s Day, including letterpress notes, rubber stamps, and gift wrap. I like how they use the design elements in different applications — for instance, a cute design on both a letterpress card and as a rubber stamp, or a design used in both gift wrap and as an envelope for a card. This makes it easy for you to create your own custom theme!

Poppytalk Handmade Valentine’s Day Paper Stuff

I love the concept of Poppytalk Handmade, a monthly online street market curated by Poppytalk. The online market features and sells handmade goods from so many fantastic independent artists and designers including, thank goodness for us, many greeting card and art print designers. Here’s a selection of the paper lovelies from the Valentine’s Day & Wedding Market, which runs from January 7 – February 8, 2008:

Eco Friendly Paper : Objet de Carte

Eco Friendly Paper

I’m digging the greeting cards from Objet de Carte, created by artist and designer Robert Brownstein. His use of geometry, patchwork, and typography is both fun and inspiring. In addition, each card is printed on 100% recycled card stock, and envelopes are made from 100% recycled kraft paper.
