Anna Ruby King Greeting Card

I’m absolutely inspired by the work of Australian artist Anna Ruby King. Her creations include these irresistible cards made using rescued fabric and featuring hand drawn details.

Anna has a passion for being as eco-friendly as possible; thus, her cards are made using recycled cardstock, and she’s working towards making her business carbon neutral.

I’m also loving her series of “Nesting Materials” gocco prints and original artwork. Seeing creations like this makes me want to take a closer look at the world around me:

Smock Letterpress Bamboo Paper

I’m loving, well, just about everything from Syracuse, New York based letterpress studio Smock. They create a little bit of everything, including ultra elegant custom wedding invitations, thank you notes, party invitations, and gift wrap. Their work is a mix of lovely, subdued color and sophisticated graphics:

Smock is the first print shop in the U.S. to offer printing on luxury bamboo paper, a soft, thick, and elegantly textured paper made from bamboo, of course, which is a highly sustainable and renewable resource. Read more about Smock’s dedication to bamboo here.

Though they don’t seem to have an e-commerce presence as of yet, Smock’s line can be purchased on their site and found in many paperies in the U.S. and beyond. You can search for a location here.

Sweetbeets Letterpress Card

These letterpress cards from Ontario, Canada based Sweetbeets are super sweet and really get the nostalgia going. Give them as greetings at baby showers or children’s birthdays, or frame a series (the “numbers” cards would be perfect) as decorative accessories in a nursery or child’s room.

All of Sweetbeets’ lettepress cards are printed with vegetable based ink on 100% post consumer recycled cardstock and come with an envelope made of 30% post consumer recycled paper. $5.50 each at Sweetbeets’ Etsy shop.

Mariella Designs Note Cards

Mariella Designs carries so many pretty, artistically designed cards that I had a really hard time deciding on my favorites. I’ve featured several here, but you really must see their website to get a feel for the depth of their work.

Not only are the cards lovely, but they’re also eco-friendly, printed on recycled paper with soy based inks. Mariella is working on a shopping cart for their site, which should be up by early June, but you can find their paper goods at Anthropologie, Paper Source, and several online shops. More pretties:

Rebecca Horwood Happy Packaging Illustration

I’m absolutely loving this adorable artwork from Oxford, UK based illustrator Rebecca Horwood. Cheer up, sad packaging, you’ll soon be happily recycled, too!

Each limited edition original illustration is drawn in black pen on a recycled envelope — you can see an umounted example here — and features different cute characters that are unique to that piece.

You can see more of Rebecca’s wonderful work on her website.
