National Stationery Show 2010 : Navy Obsession

I’m just about at the end of my National Stationery Show journey, but before I close things out I have to share some favorites in one of my new favorite colors: navy blue. If I was in your booth and spotted something navy, then I undoubtedly shared my new, somewhat unhealthy color obsession with you, and if you had something navy blue and pink, then I probably squeed out loud.

Another of my favorite wedding invitations from the show — I can’t stop looking at this navy letterpress beauty by Flywheel Press, a member of the Ladies of Letterpress.

New York City style is showcased in these gorgeous wedding invites by Atelier Isabey. The thank you card features the couple with their dog, and the suite can be customized to your needs, as well.

My photos don’t do these letterpress invites by Gilah Press justice, but in person the soft, subtle pink against the bold navy was absolutely gorgeous.

All of the letterpress lovelies at the Gwyneth Paige booth were framed in these great antiqued frames. I really enjoyed the romantic, peony adorned Deanna suite. Love the navy envelope liner!

Navy blue + navy blue and pink wedding invitations made me very happy at the Saima Says booth:

I really liked the pattern, not to mention the color, on these note cards by Kelp Designs.

National Stationery Show 2010 : 2011 Calendar Preview

Over the past few years, calendar design — in independent stationery circles, at least — has grown to become an art, and I’m sure I’m not alone in anticipating what fantastic concepts, illustrations, and design I’ll see in the new batch of calendars every year. I’ve featured several 2011 calendars so far in my highlights from this year’s stationery show, but there are plenty that I haven’t shown you yet. Here’s a peek at what will be gracing walls and desks in 2011.

National Stationery Show 2010 : All About Details, Part 1

One of the most exciting things about being at the stationery show was seeing all of the different booths. Walking into a shop’s booth was walking into a world that they’d constructed to house their creations, and I was amazed by so many of the booths and the work that was obviously put into them.

Blue Barnhouse rocked it with their awesome sign and wood plank walls!

One of my most anticipated booth visits was the Two Trick Pony booth. Laurie and Carrie had been posting in progress sneak peeks on Twitter leading up to the show, and I couldn’t wait to see everything in person. They created the perfect display for all of Two Trick Pony’s fun and colorful cards and invitations:

Hot pink + handlettering + vintage postcards = awesome, which is what the Linda & Harriett booth, and their gorgeous letterpress calendars, was. Seeing their new calendar has become a yearly anticipation for me because it’s always filled with super cool illustrations, and their birthday calendar is great for people like me, who are a little absent-minded and need birthday reminders.

I had so much fun in the Sugarcube Press booth. It was great to meet Kelsie and Elizabeth, the “sweet girly duo” behind Sugarcube, and their letterpress greetings were beautiful as well as clever. Plus, how cool are the vintage spoons used in their card display and the sugarcube covered cake stand used to hold their business cards?

The a. favorite booth was truly an extension of their completely clever, vintage-inspired letterpress line of greetings. I loved that the cards were displayed on oversized “notebooks” (this theme was also carried through to the business cards — more on that later), and the retro-y goodie bags were the icing on the cake.

Two Trick Pony

Carrie Siegel and Laurie Mee, the two talented Ponies at Two Trick Pony (Booth #1641), are at it again and have lots of new goodies making their stationery show debut this year, including new cards, gift tags, invitations, and a pretty fab 2011 screenprinted calendar — you can check that out right here. I think that the gift above, featuring one of their newest gift tag designs, is a fantastic candidate for the Weekly Wrap. Love the orange!
