- Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2009Matthew Mead is extremely good in creating and showing us how to create Halloween decorations and edibles! This is a terrific book, on the quality of Martha Stewart. It has 127 pages of ideas, all in color, and is a keepsake in itself.
The projects are very good and varied. There are some for kids and they go upwards to level of difficulty. The cheapest and most kid-friendly thing to do is the Masked Boiled Egg with Witches Hat. They're pictured on the front cover of the book. The kids loved doing them and they're adorable. I made the Mummy Meatloaf (so simple!). Some things can get pricey but you can just take the ideas to make your own version with cheaper materials.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2008This is a beautiful book, with great crafting, decorating & treat ideas that vary from simple to elaborate.
The photos will make you think of Martha Stewart, but the ideas are actually less restrained and more whimsical and doable than the ever elegant Martha.
My favorite for home decorating is the Witches coat rack. A fun entryway decoration complete with a cloak, broom, 'pointy hat' and a large key marked "Dungeon", that looks as though the owner came home to "park it for the night".
I love this book and can't wait to get busy with several of the projects in here.
NOTE: This Book has recently been "RE-DONE" and reprinted in a paperback format. The Cover is different and Mead has added 50% more content. PLEASE BUY THE 2009 "MONSTER" PAPERBACK VERSION INSTEAD!
You will all be much happier if you do!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2013Pictures are vivid but that is it. Geared for the very young in decorations. Not many new ideas and was disappointed.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2008I received this book today and what fun it was to look through! Gorgeous full-color illustrations and patterns. As the title suggests, there are a wide variety of activities in the book. Simple things that even kids can do (that are still stylish) and more complicated crafts/cooking for adults. I am very pleased with this purchase and I think the price is excellent considering the amount of information contained in the book. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for ideas for things to do with their kids or anyone looking to jazz up their Halloween decor.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2009I just received this book and want to review it because it has no reviews. I like it very much. It is a stylish and fun collection of recipes and decor projects from a style editor for Country Home. To my eyes it is more the Martha Stewart sort of things as contrasted with the Walmart sort of things. Most of the projects are simple and whimsical, a few are more challenging but very worthwhile, for example a quilt of many crescent moons. All in all, I highly recommend this book for lovers of Halloween decorating and cooking. :-)
- Reviewed in the United States on October 8, 2010The magazine has some interesting stuff in it. Although, it is pricy. It is in the form of hardback which was really unnecessary. Last year his book was in the form of a magazine which was just as good if not better. Next year I hope they do publish it as a magazine and not a book.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2008This book is full of such COOL ideas and recipes, etc. Matthew is the best and this book proves it. It's up-to-date and you will not regret purchasing it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Ein einfaches Halloween Buch, allerdings nur für Kinder... Schade!
SCHADE!!!!!
PS.: Das Buch setzt Englischkenntnisse voraus.
